Students are referred to this course if they appear to have difficulties controlling their tempers with staff and/or other pupils in school.
Resulting behaviour may include shouting out, verbal abuse of others or themselves, a refusal to accept correction and a tendency to “storm” out of class, etc.
Such individuals may then be contrite and ashamed after their outburst and are often able to reflect honestly and openly on their difficulties, acknowledging their need for coping strategies in such circumstances.
It is inevitable however that a repeated sense of failure in this respect will further undermine an already fragile self-worth in these young people. |
