HSTLEXC >> Behaviour Improvement Programme

Hastings and St Leonards' Behaviour Improvement Programme staff will provide a pro-active service to support schools in the improvement of the behaviour, attendance, learning, and, subsequently, the raising of attainment, of young people. A number of approaches will be utilised according to the needs of the schools and individuals:

Working with target groups of children
In school support working in partnership with school staff
Collaborative planning of project work with schools
Centre (PDC) based activities
Staff training
Transition work, including managed transfers
Sustained support for identified young people
Further development of tracking procedures

Where appropriate the BIP Co-ordinator will offer advice and co-ordination for schools and agencies on policy and practice development / joint protocols, identification and tracking, behaviour management and support and services. Whenever possible, successful initiatives and services will be mainstreamed to provide a joint Children's Service across Hastings and St Leonards Excellence Cluster.
